Safe Search Is Becoming a Necessity

In light of the Binance event (scammers got a hold of $6.43 billion), I see that using an ad-free search engine seems to be becoming essential today. With scammers getting more and more sophisticated, our families, friends, colleagues, and us need to be able to safely search online. The sponsored results on Google are becoming more and more dangerous ⚡

From the official report 👇

The starting point has been traced back to a supply chain attack targeting one of its engineers from the Wallet DevOps team (named "Engineer A"), who downloaded a trojanized Homebrew installer to install a popular artificial intelligence (AI) tool after searching for it on a search engine. The incident occurred in June 2026.

Basically, they searched for a tool online; scammers paid for their website to be a sponsored result, and since Google doesn't distinguish between scammers and non-scammers, the scammers' ad was the top result for a certain search query.

And let's not forget the Trezor incident from the summer of 2026 🙈

Scammers created an exact replica of the Trezor wallet's website and stole a person's life savings.

I invite everyone to start searching safely with Kagi - we recently added the possibility for anyone to take Kagi for a spin without the need to create an account, to see what a search experience can actually be like 🙇

P.S. Yes, I work at Kagi. And yes, this is my subjective opinion 💪
